Viscose fabric for a dress in light pink flowers
Width: 145 cm
Weight: 90 g/m2
Composition: 100% viscose
Viscose fabric for a dress in light pink flowers is a textile in which summer has absolutely the audacity to look so beautiful. This viscose—i.e., a type that drapes beautifully on the silhouette while also providing that soft, pleasant “cloud-like” hand-feel. Thanks to light calendering, the surface is smooth and delicately satin-like, so the finished dress looks elegant even on the most ordinary day.
A composition of 100% viscose makes the fabric breathable and allows it to release heat well, which in practice means comfort on warmer days. A plain weave gives the textile stability, and a weight of 90 g/m² provides the ideal balance between lightness and “dressmaking” sturdiness. Viscose naturally has the ability to absorb moisture, so the skin can breathe and the garment does not behave like plastic wrap. The material drapes nicely, gently emphasizes the lines, and works wonderfully in movement, although it is worth remembering that viscose is more sensitive to stretching after getting wet.
The motif is a composition of hydrangeas in light pink shades, set on a light yellow, buttery background. The flowers have a romantic, slightly “painterly” depth, and fresh leaves in shades of green add contrast, so the whole design does not look flat. In the dress design, the print will look best in places where the fabric can drape freely, e.g., on flared skirts and in ruffles.
Wash at a temperature of up to 30°C on a delicate program, preferably on the left side and using a mild detergent. Do not bleach and do not tumble dry. After washing, gently press out and dry flat or on a hanger, away from harsh sunlight. Iron at a low or medium temperature, through a thin fabric—preferably using light steam and also from the underside.
This viscose is a dream for flowing, summer midi dresses, wrap styles, and models with a wrap front and gathers. It will work great in cuts that need a nice fall of the fabric, so we recommend it for spaghetti-strap styles, flared dresses, and blouses with a looser sleeve. With a width of 145 cm, it is easy to plan wider parts of the pattern, so the finished garment will look “rich,” not accidentally arranged.
Most often it drapes slightly, but it has enough weight for the style to look elegant.
Viscose has a fairly light weight, but it is not sheer like viscose batiste. If you plan to sew a dress, it is worth considering a light viscose for the lining in the skirt part.
This pattern is practically made for styles with gathers and ruffles—it will look very feminine and lovely.
We recommend delicate washing up to 30 degrees.
If you have a proven tumble-dryer program for delicate fabrics, you can try it, but it is definitely better to use traditional drying.
Viscose is best ironed on the left side on “one,” or alternatively at the lowest temperature with available steaming. For stronger creases, you can iron while damp, through a cotton cloth.
Viscose is one of the best materials for summer dresses—it is light, breathable, and gives a cooling sensation on the skin.
