Stretchy material with microfibre peach touch is PREMIUM knitwear designed for projects that are meant to provide a feeling of limitless comfort at any moment—whether it’s our time to relax, our favorite Pilates exercises, a yoga session, or a jog along a soft path. Seriously, it’s a fabric that looks almost sensual and comfortable, while also being elegant, so you can even sew a dress from it. Thanks to high stretch in both directions and the peach touch finish (slightly fluffy, matte surface like a peach skin), it provides excellent fit and a flattering drape on the body.
Properties of microfibre knit fabrics
This is knitwear made of 83% polyester and 17% elastane, so it combines the durability of synthetics with the elasticity that holds its shape. The microfibre structure makes the material pleasant against the skin and “works” together with movement without pulling or stiffening. In practice, this means comfort during everyday motions and an attractive return to shape after stretching. A weight of 240 g/m² provides a sense of solidity and ensures the fabric is not see-through in typical applications, and the garments drape well. In addition, 3% shrinkage at a width of 165 cm allows you to plan the seams calmly.
Pattern and color of the microfibre material
The color is solid, without a printed pattern, and the character comes from the surface itself: it softly “softens” the light, so the shades look deeper and more noble. In this collection, colors such as milky white, vanilla, light and cool beige, smoky peach, smoky violet, muted green, grey-blue, smoky navy and black gain a velvety finish. Peach touch also makes beiges and powders especially photogenic, because they do not shine “plasticky”; instead, they fall softly.
Care for delicate microfibre knitwear
Machine wash up to 30°C on a delicate cycle (preferably using a liquid for fabrics), without bleach. Dry flat or on a hanger, away from harsh sunlight, so that elastane retains its elasticity. Iron at low to medium temperature, preferably through a thin cloth and from the inside (underside); do not overheat, because it’s a fabric that likes warmth in moderation. For these fabrics, it’s a good idea to use dedicated laundry liquids, for example for sportswear.
Applications of stretchy materials with peach touch finish
This knit fabric is perfect for cuts where fit and comfort matter: tight or semi-tight dresses, blouses, fitted tops, pencil skirts, leggings, and jumpsuits. It’s also a great choice for sewing models with darts and seams, because it “holds the direction” well and doesn’t shift at the seams. And when you add a bit of ease to the pattern, it also handles longer, softly flowing forms well, such as tunics or oversized shirts.
Helpful questions (FAQ)
Does this knit fabric keep its elasticity after washing?
After washing under the recommended conditions, the knit fabric retains its elasticity.
How does the material behave when sewing?
Keep in mind the proper selection of thread and needles for sewing very elastic knit fabrics. It’s also worth doing a good overlock finishing with a chain stitch, then the sewn garments will not split at the seams during wear.
Can peach touch irritate sensitive skin?
Peach touch knit fabric is an incredibly soft material that wraps the skin like delicate fluff—it is not irritating even for delicate skin.
Is a fabric weight of 240 g/m² suitable for dresses for cooler days?
Yes, dresses for cooler days can be made from fabric with this weight.
What is the actual shrinkage and how should it be accounted for before cutting?
The fabric’s shrinkage is about 3%; across the width, that is about 5 cm, so we still have about 160 cm of usable width to work with. However, along the length, it’s best to take a couple of extra centimeters to have some allowance.
How to choose the needle and stitch for sewing elastane knit fabric?
Needles are best for sewing thin microfibre knits; an elastic stitch secured with a chain stitch.
Are light colors (e.g., milky white) more or less prone to showing through?
Because the knit fabric has a dense structure, appropriate weight, and a soft peach touch finish, even light colors do not show through.
