Properties of grey cotton fabric

This is a 100% raw cotton fabric with a plain weave, which provides a smooth, uniform surface and ease of sewing. A weight of 160 g/m² is a universal fabric weight that ensures stability in constructions while not restricting movement. The natural cotton color and lack of finishing mean that the fabric responds easily to dyes and color-testing, while at the same time not limiting breathability. Cotton is breathable and hygroscopic, making it comfortable even during long design sessions. The plain weave guarantees an even texture and minimizes creasing, which makes cutting and sewing easier.

As a fabric with a plain weave, the Grey fabric has mainly a smooth, uniform texture with no pattern. It is available exclusively in a natural cotton color, providing a warm beige-cream background ideal for color tests and mock-ups. Care for raw cotton

Composition: 100% raw cotton. Wash at 40°C on a delicate cycle, without bleach and aggressive detergents. Dry in the air or in a dryer set to low heat. Iron with steam, at high temperature (Cotton), when the fabric is slightly damp. With no finishing, the fabric retains its natural absorbency and texture, so it is worth avoiding excessive washing and excessive heat to maintain weave stability.

Use of grey cotton fabric

Best for constructions and prototypes; an excellent base for mock-ups, pattern tests, and initial design attempts. Thanks to its width of 130 cm, it is easy to create wide sections without excessive joining. In the wardrobe it works perfectly as a base for oversized shirts, lightweight tunics, and simple test dresses, as well as for initial layers and layer tests in a casual style. The natural color and natural texture make it easy to carry out dye trials, and the un-finished character leaves full flexibility for the next stages of design.

Grey cotton fabric is also ideal for sponge covers for cushions of upholstered furniture, as protection for the bottom of furniture, and for internal mattress linings. It can also be used to sew: food bags, shopping bags; laundry bags.
