What is cotton?
Cotton fabrics are the most popular in the textile industry. They are made from fibers surrounding the seeds of the cotton plant. Cotton fabric is resistant to stretching, is heat resistant and has considerable hygroscopicity. A thicker one retains heat, while a thin one cools the skin accordingly. Because of the material's low elasticity, it is prone to creasing. Cotton fabric can be ironed at 150-180oC and can be washed in warm water.
